This role requires expertise in litigation procedures, document management, and case preparation from onset through post-trial. Extensive experience in litigation support and proficiency with relevant software are essential. Demonstrates professionalism, technical savvy and ability to handle multiple priorities and work in an organized, efficient manner at any given time. This candidate should be flexible to work overtime as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesDrafts and files legal documents such as briefs, complaints, motions, subpoenas, and summonses utilizing firm templates and attorney-provided informationSupports the discovery process by preparing for depositions, drafting, and responding to written discovery requests, and assisting with expert discovery preparationManages and conducts document reviews; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and resultsAssists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staffTrack deadlines, court dates, and regulatory filing requirements to ensure compliance (together with ProLaw)Performs and oversees both simple and complex cite checking and proof reading of briefs and other legal documentsConducts research and utilizes legal technology tools for e-discovery and case managementCoordinates multi-document filings in Federal, Circuit and State courts, including E-filingsDrafts general correspondence, memoranda, and reports from various sources ensuring final documents are accurate and clear; delivers correspondence and documentation promptly via appropriate methodsManages scheduling and travel arrangements, including court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls; coordinates business itineraries; processes travel reimbursements and maintains attorneys' calendars and due datesEstablishes and maintains organized filing systems and records in both physical and electronic formatsEnters attorneys' billable time and submits to accounting by monthly deadlinesSupports administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, assembling exhibit binders, and preparing shipping labels and certified mailingsSorts and reviews incoming mail and documents; answers phone calls and directs inquiries to appropriate personnelProvides assistance with other departmental activities as needed and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsSkills & CompetenciesExceptional organization, attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills, and ability to manage time effectively.Strong understanding of litigation procedures and deadlinesAbility to maintain high standards, use good judgment and seek out ways to contribute and anticipate needsExcellent interpersonal skills, advanced communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to collaborate well in a teamAbility to work under pressure to meet strict deadlinesHigh degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive informationEducation & Prior Experience5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in a large law firm settingEstablished understanding of securities or financial litigation preferredKnowledge of FINRA, JAMS and AAA procedures and electronic filing systemsAbility to work independently and within a team requiredKnowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures or agency rules of assigned practice group/dept. (ex. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
