The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney's office is accepting applications for a full-time Legal Support Staff position. This full-time position provides legal and administrative support to attorneys in the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorneys Office. The role involves assisting with case creation, discovery, and docket support, as well as frequent communication with law enforcement, witnesses, and members of the public. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism are essential.
Starting compensation is $33,000 to $38,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This position also comes with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid vacation/sick/holiday leave, free life insurance policies, and much more.
The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney's office is located in the Callaway County Justice Center at 5 East 2nd Street, Fulton, MO. The normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm with weekends and holidays off.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, organize, and disclose discovery in accordance with office policies, court rules, and applicable law.
Assist an assigned attorney with weekly court dockets, including attending the docket weekly.
Accurately and promptly input reports and other data into the case management system.
Communicate with law enforcement agencies to obtain reports, evidence, and supplemental information as needed.
Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner.
Coordinate with witnesses regarding availability, subpoenas, and court appearances.
Assist with general office duties, including filing, scanning, and managing case documents.
Support attorneys with trial preparation and other case-related tasks as assigned.
What Were Looking For:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A bachelors degree in criminal justice, legal studies, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in a law office, prosecutors office, or similar legal/criminal justice setting is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with ProsecutorbyKarpel or other case management software is a plus.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately is essential.
