The Department of Public Health's (DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) seeks a dynamic applicant to fill the Legal System- Involved Services Program Coordinator position. The Legal System- Involved Services Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, supports, and monitors the implementation of all assigned Bureau activities related to providing services for individuals and families impacted by both substance use disorder (SUD) and the legal system.
This position coordinates, monitors, implements, or oversees legal system-related service contracts, Inter-Agency Service Agreements (ISAs) as applicable, federal grants, and initiatives as assigned. Assigned responsibilities will include programs, initiatives and partnerships along the legal system continuum including local law enforcement, alternative response teams, the Executive Office of the Trial Court, Public Defenders, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the Department of Corrections, the Sheriff's Departments, Probation and Parole, the Department of Mental Health and other state agencies serving legal system involved individuals with substance use disorders. The scope of work focuses on partnering with the Massachusetts Probation Department and the Registry of Motor Vehicles to oversee the Massachusetts Impaired Driver Program. Services include substance use-related initiatives such as community-based legal system diversion; court-involved intervention, diversion, and supports; treatment and other program access in the community and in settings of incarceration; re-entry treatment and support programming, etc. The incumbent develops and implements services with input and collaboration from community partners and people with lived experience with the legal system and with substance use. This position also considers and strives to address the needs of the substance use services continuum as it serves individuals involved with the legal system. The incumbent reviews data submitted by vendors and partners, responds to project inquiries, addresses participant complaints and concerns, approves billing, and maintains communication with local programs and state partners. This position also develops reports, facilitates meetings, makes presentations, and performs other assigned duties. This position supervises the Legal System involved Program Coordinator II position.
