primary functions:
The Intern will support daily operations across multiple departments within the credit union, with a primary focus on the Member Experience and Lending teams. In this role, the intern will gain hands-on exposure to member service, loan processes and administrative functions while assisting staff with projects, research and process improvements. The intern will collaborate with team members, observe best practices and contribute to initiatives that enhance the overall member experience. This opportunity is designed to build foundational knowledge of the financial services industry in a professional, team-oriented environment.
responsibilities:
- The following responsibilities apply to all Skyla Credit Union interns regardless of department:
- Perform assigned duties and project work under the direction of the supervising manager.
- Maintain compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all member and credit union information at all times.
- Demonstrate professional conduct, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Participate in intern program activities, including any scheduled orientations, meetings, or cross-departmental learning opportunities.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union''s values, mission, and vision.
- Perform duties other than department specific responsibilities as assigned.
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
- Review loan and new member applications in the Digital Branch
- Assist with the title process
- Assist with gathering documentation for Mortgage processing, underwriting and servicing
- Assist with preparing loan presentations, site visits and insurance updates for the Commercial Loan team
- Review and sort HubSpot business referrals
- Assist with audit corrections for the Member Experience team.
- Create reports for branch analysis

minimum requirements:
The following requirements apply to all Skyla Credit Union interns:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program, or recent graduate (within 6 months).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a professional environment and maintain confidentiality.
Department-Specific Requirements:
Students pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Communications or a related field are preferred. Candidates with an interest in financial services, lending, member service, or community-focused banking are preferred.
