Position: LEO Elementary Literacy Coach (FTE - 1.0)

Location: Kurzman Administration Building, Crary Campus

Minimum Qualifications: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate 10 or more years of successful teaching experience Currently enrolled in completed LETRS training Strong communication skills and capacity to build collaborative relationships Deep understanding and knowledge of all Into Reading strands and evidence-based teaching practices Exceptional knowledge in the use of assessment data to inform instruction Skilled in facilitating professional learning with large and small groups Knowledge of Michigan's PreK-5 Literacy Essentials & Coaching Essentials Must be available to attend ALL training dates: o 2026-27 LEO events: August 5, 6 & 18 o Statewide Literacy Conference: August 5th & 6th 2026 (virtual option available) o Return for the 2026-27 school year on August 18th with the CIA team to help prepare for and facilitate all probationary and tenured professional learning days Preferred: Master's degree in Reading Endorsement in Reading or Language Arts (BX) (BA) Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory Experience in a district and/or building leadership role Essential Functions: Join district Literacy Leadership Team and Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment department Partner with teachers to engage in coaching cycles (including goal setting, co-planning, modeling/co-teaching & reflecting) Lead job-embedded professional learning Provide literacy onboarding support as a part of district Induction Create content & facilitate district professional learning

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent Pre K-5 Instruction

Workday/Week: Monday - Friday

Starting Date: ASAP

Compensation: Per WEA Master Agreement
