Level 1 Help Desk Technician – Windows 11 Migration
Houston, TX | Onsite | 6+ Month Contract
2 Openings
iSphere is looking for two Level 1 Help Desk Technicians to support a large Windows 11 migration in Houston.
This is a good opportunity for someone early in their IT career who already has some real-world desktop or help desk experience and wants more exposure to enterprise deployments, workstation refreshes, and hands-on user support.
You will spend most of your time helping users move from their current Windows environment to Windows 11. That includes setting up and replacing PCs, installing software, configuring workstations, moving user files and settings, troubleshooting migration issues, and making sure employees are actually able to work when you hand the machine back to them.
The technical work is Level 1, but the people side matters just as much. Some users will be comfortable with the change. Some will treat a new desktop icon like a major corporate event. You need to be patient, professional, and able to explain things without making people feel like they should already know the answer.
What we need:
1 to 2+ years of Help Desk, Service Desk, Desktop Support, or similar IT support experience
Experience supporting Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
Familiarity with PC imaging, deployment, hardware replacement, or operating system migrations
Experience installing and configuring desktops, laptops, applications, and peripherals
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
Basic Active Directory and user account support experience
Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, docking station, and connectivity issues
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to follow deployment procedures, checklists, and documentation standards
Ability to work onsite in Houston for the duration of the project
Previous Windows 11 migration or desktop refresh experience would be a big plus. Experience with enterprise deployment tools, ServiceNow or another ticketing system, CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or similar entry-level IT credentials will also get our attention.
You will document completed migrations, track issues, escalate anything beyond Level 1, and work closely with the rest of the IT team to keep the rollout moving.
If you already have a year or two of support experience and want a project where you can touch a lot of equipment, help a lot of users, and build stronger desktop support experience quickly, this should be worth a conversation.
