Do you take pride in your work and accountability for your results? Can you think on your feet to solve unique problems in a timely manner? If so, you could be the full-time Level 2 Maintenance Technician we're looking for at Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority! Join our Chardon, OH team and help keep our rental properties in excellent condition for our tenants!

THE DIFFERENCE YOU'LL MAKE:

We have five residential properties in Geauga County, and our Level 2 Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing scheduled maintenance, preventive services, and work-order repairs for these units. You'll need to be able to complete high-quality work independently, use tools and PPE properly, and comply with all regulations and building codes. Every day will bring something different as you perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (fixing leaks/clogs, troubleshooting faulty outlets and HVAC systems, performing carpentry and drywall services, etc.) to meet the tenants' needs. You'll promptly respond to service requests, fix the problem, and fully document the work you perform. Diligently, you'll perform scheduled equipment maintenance (boilers, water heaters, smoke detectors, etc.), complete timely unit turnovers, and assist in other areas as needed.

To Qualify, You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of hands-on residential or commercial maintenance experience
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills
  • Ability to serve properties in Chardon, Newbury, Middlefield, and Chagrin Falls
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Our ideal Level 2 Maintenance Technician has at least 3 years of progressive experience maintaining public housing or multi-unit properties and is proficient in related work order systems/property management software. Skilled trade certifications or vocational training would be a bonus!

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING OUR LEVEL 2 MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

  • Competitive Pay: $21.69 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, with overtime available
  • Benefits: Health insurance, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, a pension, paid holidays, generous PTO, and company-issued phone, vehicle, tools, and work shirts
