JOB SUMMARY The LIB Project Sous Chef position is a temporary seasonal position that is primarily mobile in nature. It encompasses all food related roles. The LIB Project Sous Chef is responsible for supervising the setting up and organizing tools & equipment in the kitchen, setting up food prep & cooking stations, and prepping, cooking, and plating of food, as well as set up the food stations, and serve the food at the stations. The LIB Project Sous Chef is also responsible for supervising the cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, kitchen supplies & tools, kitchen area as a whole Work shifts will take place at the Buena Vista Aquatic in Bakersfield, CA. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS CDC, COO, Owner DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Ensures food storage and kitchen compliance for all local, state, and federal regulations, including, but not limited to: Heath Department regulations, Department of Labor regulations, sanitary guidelines, and safety guidelines
- Ensuring highest standard of hygiene is maintained in the kitchen and all work environments by establishing cleaning and maintenance schedules
- Oversees in food preparation and manages kitchen staff on and off premise
- Oversees all BOH staff to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with CA Health Code standards
- Coordinates with HR regarding any employee disciplinary actions
- Works cohesively with the sales and production/FOH operations departments
- Implementation of green practices
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Works cohesively with the COO
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Owner and COO
- Represent the company positively in all marketing opportunities.
- Encourage and maintain a positive and safe work culture and work environment
- Drives to local vendors when necessary to procure product
