Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in Library Science or a related program from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate school. One year of professional experience as a librarian is required.

The incumbent in this position functions as the Assistant Branch Manager with a focus on Children's Services in a regional or medium-sized library branch. Key responsibilities include developing programs tailored to specific age groups, managing room reservations, setting up meetings and events, and assisting with collection development. They directly support daily operations, supervise staff, handle scheduling, and resolve complex patron issues. The role also involves submitting incident reports, completing performance evaluations, generating work orders, staffing service desks, and participating in systemwide committees. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee serials record management processes and verify daily and weekly financial transactions for the branch. This position involves supervising Librarian 1s, interns, library assistants, library pages, and other paraprofessional staff as needed.
