Job Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for the direct provision of library services to children (birth through age 12) and adults working on behalf of children; planning, presenting, evaluating developmentally appropriate library programming; advising and assisting children in their use and evaluation of library materials and information sources; conducting outreach to children in community venues including schools and child care settings; actively promoting childrens use of the library and library resources; advocating for children within the library organization. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.
