The University of South Dakota invites applications for an Interlibrary Loan Librarian (Civil Service Librarian level) based at the University Libraries' I.D. Weeks Library in Vermillion, South Dakota. This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the interlibrary loan department and will manage and process electronic course reserves. Duties will also support the operations of the circulation desk in ID Weeks Library and the interlibrary loan operations of the Wegner Health Sciences Library.
Candidates experienced with interlibrary loan processing and familiar with copyright law as it applies to electronic course reserves in an academic library are highly desired. Candidates must possess experience and comfort working with computers and office software/technologies, be detail-oriented, be well organized, have strong communication skills and be able to maintain confidentiality. They must be able to work with the diversity of colleagues, staff, faculty and students at the University of South Dakota. The individual must be flexible and capable of learning new tasks in a changing environment, committed to helping others by providing customer service in a professional manner, and willing to learn new concepts and technologies. They must be able to work independently or in groups and will be expected to meaningfully contribute to group work.
The Interlibrary Loan Librarian will work at the I.D. Weeks building on the Vermillion campus and will report to the Associate Dean for Access and Collection Services. A hybrid schedule with some remote work may be possible.

The University Libraries includes the ID Weeks Library in Vermillion and the Wegner Health Sciences Library in Sioux Falls. The Interlibrary Loan Office at ID Weeks Library is part of the Access and Collection Services unit. The unit and this position support the academic endeavors of the University of South Dakota students, faculty and staff by providing interlibrary loan/document delivery services, maintaining electronic course reserves, and providing circulation services. Materials from the collections are also loaned to libraries throughout the United States. University Libraries also provides interlibrary loan services for students and faculty of the Knutson School of Law on behalf of the McKusick Law Library.
