WA Library Assistant (After School) Job Description Title: Library Assistant Supervisors: Building Principal, Library Media Specialist Objective: To provide a welcoming environment in which students and teachers can take full advantage of library resources. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 2:20pm-4:20pm. Requirements:
Familiarity with computers and online applications such as Google Workspace
Experience with Follett Destiny online catalog is a plus
Enjoy working with students and teachers
Like to work in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment and willing to learn new skills
General duties:
Oversee that students are using the space appropriately
Close up the library at the end of the day
Basic clean up: push in chairs, shut down copiers, lights, etc.
Help students and teachers with copy machines
Create and maintain library displays
Answer library phone, respond to general questions, redirect as necessary
Circulation desk management:
Check books in and out
Assists with the barcoding of books for circulation
Processes new library materials including the cataloging of materials
Manage collection:
Shelve books, DVDs, etc.
Assists in the annual inventory of library materials and helps prepare a list of missing and discarded materials
