Under the direction of the Lead Library Coordinator for Stacks Management and Courier Services, this Library Coordinator II position works with other library staff and student assistants to fulfill a range of stacks management and mailroom responsibilities. These include shelving library materials throughout Howard-Tilton Memorial Library and assisting the lead coordinator of this department with planning and shifting physical collections. This work may include collecting data from environmental monitors, located among the bookshelves, if needed. The person in this position also changes locations and updates holdings and items in the library''s Alma Integrated Library System (ILS), and this work may include adjusting the status of lost or missing items in Alma as part of a Lost Books workflow. The position collaborates with other department staff to provide mailroom services and serves as backup to the Mailroom Technician. This position may supervise the Mailroom student assistant. This position will also serve as a backup to the Courier when needed. This position may also be periodically assigned to assist with special collections management projects throughout Tulane University Libraries.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with 6 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Ex Libris Alma Integrated Library System (ILS)

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a team in a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively to accomplish goals within established timelines, and to to think critically and apply good judgment

  • Ability to learn and use varied computer programs and systems, specifically relevant modules with the Alma Integrated Library System (ILS)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to obtain or place materials on shelves at ground level and on shelves using step stools or tall ladders

  • Ability to move heavy loads on wheeled carts or pallets and handle up to 50 pounds.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive and park the library's courier vans

  • Ability to work in potentially dusty and/or moldy (not black mold) environments with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to meet Level I Core Technology Competencies as defined here: see Core Technology Competencies
