Examples of Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
·Provides general maintenance and repair work on heating and cooling equipment; regularly inspects all mechanical equipment for preventative maintenance service.
·Provides preventive maintenance activities, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and operating efficiency of mechanical equipment; calibrates and adjusts equipment as necessary.
·Lubricates all moving parts and bearings of mechanical equipment.
·Cleans and services electrical controls, condensers, and changes or cleans filters when necessary.
·Responds to emergency calls related to issues or problems with heating and cooling systems.
·Maintains records of work orders, assignments, repairs, and equipment specifications; orders and acquires materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment; interacts and coordinates with service contractors; and performs various other trade, maintenance, or building and equipment repair as directed.
·Assists and receives training in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of refrigeration, heating and ventilating equipment.
·Responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned vehicle, tools, and other equipment.
Provides support to the Library - Manager, Facilities Maintenance on matters as directed; participates on a variety of committees as assigned; prepares and presents reports and other necessary correspondence; attends and participates in trade group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the fields related to area of assignment; ensures processes, policies and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively; ensures accountability and compliance with all current and applicable state and federal laws, Library policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
Ensures an environment of customer-responsive services, providing customer-responsive service and handling customer service issues.

High School Diploma/GED supplemented by some coursework in repair and maintenance of air conditioning and heating equipment and two years of HVAC experience that includes installation, maintenance and repair of heating and air conditioning equipment
