ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Library Media Center Management
- Develop and manage the school library media center collection
- Manage library technology resources and digital learning platforms
- Curate and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and age-appropriate library collection
- Manage library budgets and resources
- Instructional Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly direct instruction to students in Kindergarten through Grade 3
- Teach 45-minute library and information literacy classes for each grade level
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that fosters a love of reading, digital citizenship, and research proficiency, while also incorporating a foundational Computer Science unit aligned with Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts School Library Media Specialist Initial or Professional License (All Levels)
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification
- Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary educational practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educators and students
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
