SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Integrates the Standards for 21st Century Learners (AASL) with K-8 curricula.
• Provides instruction to ensure that all students have the knowledge and preparation for success in the 21st century.
• Supports the systemic initiative to increase student independent reading and research in TK-5 and 6-8.
• Uses technology to effectively and efficiently manage school library collections through the use of the Library Pro catalog and inventory system of the K-8 library collection.
• Supports staff development to teachers and library media specialists in the effective use and integration of 21st-century technologies and digital tools such as web browsers, Web 2.0 tools, digital content, Smart Board technologies, and video production.
• Expands educational outreach to students and their families in the safe and ethical use of information technologies.
• Provides support for community initiatives, events, and programs as they pertain to reading at the site.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal

CREDENTIALS:

• Teacher Library Services credential, or Library Media Services credential, or eligibility for Emergency Librarian Teacher Services Permit pending completion of the Teacher Library Services credentialing program.
• Either an underlying Multiple Subject or Single Subject credential.
• CLAD or equivalent.
