Internal Posting Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Vacancy for the 2026-2027 School Year LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST Location: Increase Miller Elementary School Hours: Full Time , 10 Months Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2026 Salary & Benefits: $64,276 to $130,000 as per the KLDTA contract Job Description: • Create a welcoming, student -centered library environment that encourages exploration, inquiry, and reading engagement. • Align library curriculum with the elementary ELA curriculum by designing literacy learning experiences, fostering appreciation for high -quality literature, and teaching NY State Standards research skills. • Teaches students to effectively communicate their learning, ideas, and research through speaking, writing, digital media, and other presentation formats. • Provides engaging read -alouds, book talks, and literacy -focused lessons that foster reading comprehension and critical thinking. • Curates and manages a diverse, inclusive, and age -appropriate collection of print and digital resources that support curriculum • Assesses student reading interests, abilities, and needs to recommend books and resources that support differentiated literacy instruction and encourage independent reading at all levels. • Partners with school and community stakeholders to foster a school -wide culture of reading • Stays current with children''s literature, literacy best practices, and educational technology to enhance library programming. • Demonstrates knowledge and integration of digital literacy and computer science learning standards.
