Duties
Performance Responsibilities:
Teaching & Student Learning
- Provide direct instruction in print literacy, media literacy, digital literacy, research skills, information evaluation, and technology applications that support student learning across content areas.
- Facilitate personal inquiry and reading engagement by guiding students toward diverse resources, promoting a love of reading, and encouraging self-directed pursuit of information for personal growth.
- Integrate Illinois Standards Aligned Instruction for Libraries (I-SAIL), The Illinois School Library Program Standards (Linking for Learning) 5th edition, National School Library Standards, Illinois Learning Standards, ISTE Standards, district curriculum resources, and technology applications into student-centered instructional experiences.
- Support multilingual learners and diverse student populations through accessible instructional practices and equitable access to resources.
- Promote equitable access to print and technology resources, digital tools, and learning opportunities for all students.
Teacher Collaboration & Instructional Support
- Partner with teachers to support technology integration, digital learning strategies, and innovative instructional practices.
- When needed, collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention teams, and specialists to support student learning needs.
Professional Responsibilities
- Provide professional learning opportunities related to technology integration, digital citizenship, media literacy, and AI literacy.
- Remain current on educational technology trends and communicate best practices for classroom implementation.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners to support student success.
- Contribute positively to building culture and district initiatives that support continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties related to student learning and instructional support as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an elementary endorsement
- Illinois School Library Information Specialist K-12 endorsement preferred
- Hired candidates without this endorsement are expected to obtain it within two years of employment.
- Endorsement or demonstrated expertise in library media or instructional technology integration preferred
- Experience using instructional technology, digital learning tools, and emerging technologies, including AI applications, in educational settings preferred
Salary/Benefits
Starting base of $45,163.00 w/o TRS
(CBA Agreement- Article 26)
