Monday through Friday 7:15am to 1:30pm

OASD libraries are centers of student learning, literacy, and innovation. School library and technology paraprofessionals are an integral part of supporting our students and staff with their library and technology needs in this exciting environment. Primary duties include book and device check-outs, reshelving books and processing new books, supporting teacher requests for materials, and working with our technology department and student technology interns to support our technology program. The Ideal candidates are continuous learners who enjoy working with people, have a love for literacy, and an aptitude for technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Library Support

  • Book & device check in and out

  • Weed and shelve all books

  • Process new books and magazines

  • Assign, process, and collect fines

  • Collaborate with District Library Media Specialist with planning, management, and purchasing of library collection, resources, and physical space

  • Repair books/magazines

  • Search, pull, and deliver books requested by classroom teachers

  • Manage book requests for teachers/students

  • Process district book orders

Technology Support

  • Collaborate with Technology department and OHS Tech Intern Program to assist with classroom, staff, and student technology support

  • Set-ups for the start of the year and storage for end of year

  • Substitute assistance with classroom technology, computer use, etc.

  • Troubleshooting, maintain school inventory, update devices

  • Management, charging, and clean up of technology carts

  • Distribution and collection of devices

  • Collaborate with Technology department and OHS Tech Interns to support users with the REC Innovation Center (Recording studio, Maker materials, etc.)

Other

  • Schedule spaces within the REC and support users with resources and technology set-ups

  • Communicate with staff about resources and opportunities available

  • Offer learning opportunities and experiences with the REC for staff and students

  • Other duties as determined by the building principal (testing support, supervision, etc.)
