Qualifications:

Job Goal:

To create a classroom environment that supports academic and social growth of each student; follow the board approved district curriculum and develop positive relationships with students, parents and peers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Content knowledge and skills to effectively instruct students.
  • Demonstrates appropriate short and long-term planning goals to assure academic progress of students.
  • Establish rapport with students that assures a positive learning environment.
  • Effectively communicate with parents to discuss and inform about student progress.
  • Maintains professional competence by taking part in professional growth and curriculum development activities.
  • Cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude or learning problems.
  • Supervises students in and out of the classroom or activities as assigned by the principal.
  • Helps to administer standardized tests.
  • Actively participates in faculty meetings.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee has frequent contact with students and members of the community. While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to engage in conversations and is required to utilize communication skills, such as speaking and listening. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk at regular intervals throughout the workday. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Essential functions require a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
