Salary:

$17.89 per hour - commensurate with experience

Terms/Benefits:

2026-2027 School Year

10 month position - 8 hours per day

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Two years (minimum 60 college credits) of college training in library science or library technician program, preferably with a background in elementary education.
  • A minimum of 2 years of progressive library, instructional materials, or teaching experience, and background in children's literature.
  • Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word, and library software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to efficiently complete clerical tasks.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
  • Willingness to attend in-service meetings and workshop programs to upgrade required skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
  • Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
  • Skills in time management.

General Information:

Assists students' experience in reading, listening, and viewing library materials by providing maximum access to the library collection in an atmosphere conducive to learning.
