As a Zone Manager, you will take ownership of the sales, operational, staffing, and business development performance for an assigned group of L.A. Insurance locations: Wyoming, Muskegon, Benton Harbor, Holland, Kalamazoo & Cadillac. We are looking for a field-based leader who can build a culture of accountability and healthy competition, optimize agency coverage, and ensure our company standards are executed consistently.
What You’ll Do
- Drive Performance & Growth: Own your Zone’s performance metrics, including quotes, policies, conversions, retention, referrals, ancillary products, and overall revenue growth.
- Coach & Develop Agents: Conduct frequent field visits to coach Agents on sales execution, unsold quote follow-ups, renewals, and maximizing every customer interaction. The Zone Manager will oversee the locations of Build Winning Teams: Actively recruit licensed Agents (especially in high-need and bilingual markets), optimize schedules, and motivate your team through recognition programs, contests, and positive reinforcement.
- Grow the Brand: Partner with Marketing to execute local campaigns and drive local referral growth by building relationships with dealerships and community partners.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Make sure agencies are professional, properly branded, compliant, and equipped to succeed. You will serve as the primary communication link between your Agents and company leadership.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: Background in insurance, financial services, retail sales, or another multi-location sales environment. Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance and agency operations is required.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, recruit, and hold sales teams accountable for measurable results.
- Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.
- Education & Licensing: High School Diploma or GED required (college degree preferred). Must hold an Active Resident Property & Casualty Producer License (or obtain it within the company’s established timeframe).
- Mobility & Flexibility: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance are required. You must have the ability to travel frequently throughout your assigned Zone in varying weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle prolonged periods of sitting/driving/computer work, lift up to 5 lbs, and maintain normal hearing and vision.
This position requires a flexible work schedule, availability of overtime during surges in workload, strong organizational skill and coordination skills, ability to work independently, quick learner, team player, proactive, goal-oriented, excellent communication, strong writing and analytical skills, and advanced computer skills.
Education
- Active Resident and Producer Property and Casualty license.
- High School diploma or GED.
