    Shift: Shift 2

    Head Athletic Trainer at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends required for coordinating and providing athletic training services for the student-athletes.

    Job Summary:

    To provide outreach athletic training services at a Division III college as the Head Athletic Trainer. The Licensed Athletic Trainer III provides comprehensive athletic health care in accordance with an evaluation and treatment protocol that is established by the athletic trainer and approved by the consulting physician. The athletic training services include: injury or illness prevention programs; evaluation, management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries or illness while participating in physical activity. The Licensed Athletic Trainer III participates in other department activities designed to enhance patient/athlete care and programs. In addition, demonstrates advanced athletic training skills and is involved in program development, staff education and student supervision and/or assists in department supervision and day-to-day operations. Also demonstrates solid leadership skills. Other duties as assigned.

    EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

    A minimum of 3 years experience meeting requirements of Level 2 responsibilities as determined by interview and assessment. A minimum of 5 years experience is preferred.

    EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Athletic Training program or a related field is required.

    SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

    Must be proficient at all ATC level 2 competencies, maintain productivity level and have the potential to take on additional responsibilities. Demonstrates leadership qualities and consistently models and champions Froedtert & MCW Customer Service Standards. May require clinical expertise in specific discipline.

    LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

    State of Wisconsin licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required. Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
