Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor - Full time - Days
Schedule: 9:00am-5:30pm with weekends
- Provides behavioral health counseling services.
- Conducts patient assessments and establishes therapy treatment goals.
- Administers individual and group therapy. Maintains thorough and confidential records of observations.
- Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
- Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
- Works directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- MCBAP credential preferred - High quality therapy skills
- Skilled with co-occurring disorders and trauma
- Professional and/or personal experience with recovery
- Exceptional ability to communicate and problem-solve with others - Self-accountability and follow through - Preferred experience with county systems (FOCUS/ODIN/MHWIN)
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED One or more of the following required:
- Licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Licensed Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Licensed Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted.
- LMSW or LPC or LLP and a CAADC or Development Plan. #SponsoredJobMI
