Role Summary: The Licensed Clinical Chemistry & Serology Laboratory Supervisor (FL License Required) provides supervision over multiple functions, including oversight of laboratory testing for the core lab, monitoring workflows from sample processing through results reporting, and offering day-to-day guidance on teammate performance. This licensed technical supervisor ensures adherence to corporate standard policies and procedures regarding job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality. The role may require working a designated shift (day, evening, or night). Working Schedule: TUESDAY FRIDAY 5PM - 3:30AM WITH ONE WORKING SATRUDAY EVERY 12 WEEKS Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Direction & Workflow Oversight:
Ensure teammate adherence to procedures and quality assurance requirements.
Participate in and lead the development of, and compliance with, all departmental policies and procedures.
Serve as a resource to teammates, offering oversight and support for training and competency programs.
Monitor performance against established targets, goals, and metrics.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the department and across lab business lanes.
Leadership & Teammate Development:
Facilitate the resolution of organizational obstacles.
Communicate company employment policies, procedures, awards, and opportunities while fostering a positive work environment.
Assist in teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, and training) and collaborate on professional development goals.
Manage employment activities, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and time off approvals with appropriate oversight.
Maintain accurate teammate records and performance evaluations in compliance with company policy and applicable laws.
Perform competency evaluations and periodic performance reviews as required.
Operations & Resource Management:
Establish staffing plans to ensure optimal utilization of all teammates and cover work benches as needed.
Resolve operational and quality issues related to workload and ensure coverage during absences.
Maintain an active role in the laboratory's quality improvement program (including incident reports, CAP surveys, turnaround times, service guarantees, and state requirements) and safety policies.
Collaborate with other leaders to develop and implement section-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Minimum Experience: 6 to 8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Supervisor (required).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biological sciences, or a related field (required).
Licensure: Florida Supervisor License in Clinical Chemistry and Serology (required).
Certification: Certified by a professional laboratory certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) (required).
