Freight forwarding company located in east El Paso is looking for a Licensed Customs Broker.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans, implements and supervises operation plan to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulation.
  • Responds to deviations of the process, communicates exceptions, resolution management
  • As an Entry writer will ensure smooth and timely customs process flow
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent attention to details
  • Prepare and process import and customs brokerage file
  • Verify arrival notice with Airlines/ NVOCC's/ Steamship line
  • Rate commercial invoice with tariff numbers as well as valuation
  • Verify country of origin
  • Verify if any free trade agreement applies to entry
  • Data Entry & Transmission to Customs
  • Prepare entry documents for Customs approval & duty payment.
  • Prepare delivery order, send to trucker, verify receipt and final delivery with a POD
  • Prepare billing packet, bill file, e-mail to clients
  • All entries brought for auditing prior to duty payment date
  • Ensure that all entries are filed on time and freight delivered in a timely manner in accordance with company and customs expectations.


Qualifications:
  •  Minimum of 4-5 years of Import Brokerage experience.
  •  Supervisory experience preferred - 3 years
  •  US Customs Broker's License required.
  •  Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Supply Chain, Economics.
  •  Must have a pro-active attitude and strong time management skills.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  •  Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel.
  •  Must be familiar with rating freight invoices (buy/sell rates) & communicating with overseas partners
  •  Extremely detailed oriented and well organized.
  •  Display an interest in Global Economic Developments, including Free Trade   Agreements and tariff increases.
  •  Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment. 
  •  Perform other duties as assigned by Management .


Pay range 100K-115K base salary depending on qualifications. There is also a bonus program.
