    Licensed Hairdresser – Contract position
    Cedar Lake Lodge (La Grange, KY)
    Reports to: Director of Direct Support Professionals

We are the largest private provider of residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the state of Kentucky. We are a local non-profit organization founded in 1970 by Louisville-area parents of people with IDD. We believe that a well-trained staff, committed to the mission and vision of Cedar Lake, will successfully offer a high level of compassionate, capable care, responsive to the needs of the mind, body, and the spirit of the people we serve. We are seeking qualified individuals who are determined to share meaningful interactions that cultivate mutual respect and unconditional love to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our employees are the cornerstone of all that we do, and our team provides friendly and regular support to our staff of over 450 people.
     
    What you’ll do:
    • Consult with DSP staff and individuals as appropriate for plan of care
    • Inform leadership of any issues that may pose a risk to the health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals
    • Cut, trim, and shape hair based on preferences, hair type, and facial features
    • Clean and sanitize tools such as scissors, combs, and other applicable tools
    • Provide excellent service and care to our individuals
    What sets you apart:
    • Graduation from Cosmetology School.
    • Valid state Cosmetology License required for each procedure performed.
    • At least one year of experience required.
    • Must bring own supplies and equipment
    • Must be 18 years or older
    Work Status:
    • Contract position, 2-6 hours per week. Schedule and pay per cut negotiable.
     
    Please note that Cedar Lake Lodge, Park Place, and Sycamore Run are Intermediate Care Facilities, placing us under the “CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Rule.” Under this rule, employees must be vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to employment.
