Job Summary
The Massage Therapist is an essential member of our clinical team, responsible for delivering exceptional therapeutic massage services while creating an outstanding client experience. This individual will possess excellent technical skills, a compassionate and professional demeanor, and a genuine passion for helping clients improve their overall wellness, recovery, and relaxation.
Working in collaboration with our physicians and clinical team, the Massage Therapist will provide personalized, results-driven treatments in a welcoming, professional environment that reflects our commitment to high-quality patient care.
This position is primarily being hired as a full-time role; however, we are open to considering exceptional part-time candidates. Availability to work Saturdays is required as part of the regular schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of massage therapy services, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, therapeutic, prenatal, and other specialty techniques within the scope of licensure and training.
- Assess each client's health history, treatment goals, and physical condition to develop safe, individualized treatment plans.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a relaxing, professional, and therapeutic environment.
- Educate clients on self-care techniques, stretching, recovery methods, and wellness practices to maximize treatment outcomes.
- Accurately document treatment notes and client encounters in the electronic medical record in accordance with HIPAA and practice policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and other team members to support an integrated approach to patient care.
- Recommend appropriate treatment plans, memberships, retail products, and wellness services based on each client's individual needs.
- Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, linens, and supplies in accordance with OSHA, infection control, and practice standards.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring and restocking massage supplies as needed.
- Maintain a current state massage therapy license and complete all required continuing education.
- Support practice operations by working scheduled Saturdays and providing coverage at other practice locations when needed.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education programs, and required training sessions.
- Assist with practice marketing initiatives by encouraging client referrals and supporting patient retention efforts.
- Track referral sources and complete appropriate follow-up communications when applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the practice.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Alabama Massage Therapist License in good standing.
- Minimum of one (1) year of massage therapy experience in a spa, medical practice, wellness center, chiropractic office, or similar clinical environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and therapeutic massage techniques.
- Ability to build rapport with clients while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive upper-body movements for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform massage services requiring sustained physical effort and proper body mechanics.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds when stocking supplies or assisting with equipment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform massage therapy techniques safely and effectively.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor while working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
