We are seeking an experienced Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with a strong background in HVAC and MEP system design for commercial buildings. This is a technical engineering role focused on the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems—not project management.
The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction, serving as the Engineer of Record while collaborating with architects, engineers, and construction teams. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects including healthcare, commercial, municipal, institutional, veterinary, and other specialized facilities.
Responsibilities
Design HVAC and mechanical building systems for commercial and institutional projects
Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, and equipment selections
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Serve as the Engineer of Record, providing technical oversight throughout the design process
Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines
Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other construction-phase documentation
Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed
Resolve design and constructability challenges by developing practical engineering solutions
Support commissioning, inspections, punch-list activities, and project closeout
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements
Maintain a high level of technical quality throughout all phases of project delivery
