What Youll Do
Conduct interviews, diagnoses, and therapy sessions with patients
Collaborate with psychiatrists and other clinicians in diagnostic and treatment planning
Provide individual and group psychotherapy, including crisis intervention
Assist in developing and implementing care plans to support mental health and safety
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical assessments and treatments
Participate in team conferences, case reviews, and community outreach activities
Coordinate with facility staff and external agencies to ensure continuity of care
What You Need
Required:
Valid Alaska LCSW or LPC license (temporary license options available)
Masters degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience
Strong interpersonal, assessment, and therapeutic skills
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
Preferred:
Experience working in correctional or inpatient mental health settings
Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities and psychometric techniques
About the Assignment
This role involves providing essential mental health services within a correctional facility, supporting individuals with mental health needs, and ensuring compliance with state and departmental policies. The clinician will work closely with facility staff and under supervision of the Facility Mental Health Clinician Supervisor, delivering both direct care and consultative services to improve mental wellbeing for individuals in custody. Telehealth services may be required on occasion to support facility needs and client care continuity.
