Licensed Mental Health Clinician

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide counseling and mental health support to young adults in a college/university setting.

Pay Rate:$50.00–$53.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement:100% Onsite

Position Overview
The Counselor will provide confidential, short-term mental health counseling and crisis intervention services to college students. This position will work closely with campus partners to support student well-being, academic success, and overall mental health.
Candidates must be actively licensed as an LCSW or LPC in the State of New Jersey and have experience working with young adults.

Key Responsibilities

Individual & Group Counseling

• Provide confidential, short-term counseling to college students, including assessments, treatment planning, and therapy.

• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions addressing stress, anxiety, adjustment to college, relationships, cultural identity, and other student concerns.

• Provide culturally responsive and sensitive mental health services to a diverse student population.

• Develop appropriate treatment plans and provide ongoing support based on student needs.

Crisis Intervention

• Respond to mental health crises and emergency situations involving students.

• Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis stabilization for students experiencing acute distress.

• Connect students with appropriate campus and community resources when additional services are needed.

Campus Collaboration

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus professionals to support student success and mental health.

• Participate in multidisciplinary student support teams.

• Provide professional input regarding student referrals and cases involving academic, behavioral, social, or mental health concerns.

Cultural Competence & Advocacy

• Provide culturally competent services to students from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Support students navigating identity-related challenges and life transitions.

• Promote culturally responsive mental health practices within the college environment.

• Provide psychoeducation and participate in mental health outreach activities.

Documentation & Confidentiality

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions.

• Follow applicable ethical, legal, privacy, FERPA, and HIPAA requirements.

• Maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active LCSW or LPC license in the State of New Jersey — REQUIRED.

• Experience working with young adults — REQUIRED.

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.

• Experience providing individual and/or group counseling.

• Knowledge of mental health assessment, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.

• Strong understanding of cultural competency and culturally responsive mental health practices.

• Experience providing psychoeducation and/or mental health outreach.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical counseling experience, preferably with college-aged or young adult populations.

• Experience working in a college or university counseling center or student support environment.

• Experience supporting students with intersecting identities, including first-generation college students, LGBTQ+ students, and immigrant/refugee populations.

• Training or experience in trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based practices, or specialized therapeutic modalities.

• Familiarity with academic and student support services.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
