Christopher’s Reason is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our OASAS-licensed 822 Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. The LMHC will provide individual and group counseling to adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, professional, and experienced in working with individuals with substance use and/or mental health concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling.
Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based counseling, including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Address substance use, mental health, trauma, coping skills, relapse prevention, and life stressors.
Monitor client progress and complete required clinical documentation.
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed.
Coordinate care and make appropriate referrals to medical, psychiatric, and community resources.
Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision.
Collaborate with medical, clinical, and recovery staff to support client care.
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Follow OASAS regulations, Christopher’s Reason policies, and program requirements.
Participate in required trainings and quality improvement activities.
Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field.
Experience working with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders preferred.
Knowledge of evidence-based and trauma-informed counseling practices.
Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
