About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor to provide support, counseling, and education to clients struggling with drug or alcohol dependency. The counselor will work with both inpatient and outpatient clients, guiding them through recovery and involving families and community resources as part of the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess clients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans..
Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
Educate families on supporting recovery.
Connect clients with community programs and resources.
Maintain accurate case histories and progress reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, public health, or related field.
Training in alcohol and drug abuse counseling.
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with substance use clients.
Skills & Attributes:
Empathetic and patient approach to clients with co-occurring disorders.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
