About Sunset Counseling Services, LLC
Sunset Counseling Services, LLC is a community-rooted outpatient counseling practice in Tooele, Utah. We serve children, adolescents, adults, and couples — with our highest areas of clinical need in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
This is work that matters. Watching a client build something better — and knowing you walked alongside them — is what brings most of us into this field, and what keeps us here. Sunset is built around a simple idea: when clinicians have what they need to do this work fully, both they and their clients flourish.
What Makes This Role Different
Supervision from a Clinical Director with 25 years of experience. If you're an associate-level clinician (CSW, CMHC, or PC), supervision toward licensure is provided at no cost as part of your employment. Thousands of dollars saved — and more importantly, you'll learn from someone who has been deeply engaged in this work for over two decades.
Real administrative support. Our office manager handles scheduling, insurance verification, claims, and billing. Your time and attention stay where they belong: with your clients.
A caseload that fits how you want to work. Full-time clinicians carry at least 30 face-to-face client hours per week, with intentional room for the comprehensive care that surrounds direct sessions —the work that weaves a golden thread of continuity through every client's treatment. Want a lighter caseload? Our part-time role offers genuine flexibility. Want to take on more? That's welcome too. We recognize that good therapy lives between sessions as much as in them, and we've designed our practice to support whatever caseload size lets you do your best work.
A schedule that fits your life. Set a weekday rhythm that works for you — a four-day week with longer days, a traditional five-day cadence, or whatever pattern supports your best work. No on-call. No required weekends.
Room to grow. Weekly team consultation, and a culture that treats continuing education as part of how we keep getting better — not as a checkbox.
Clinical Focus
We serve children, adolescents, adults, and couples. We don't expect every clinician to work with every population — we'd rather you focus where you're strongest and most engaged. Most of our clinicians work primarily in individual therapy; couples and family work is available if it aligns with your training and interests, but it isn't a requirement of the role.
Please note: we are not a substance abuse treatment facility and do not provide services where substance use is the primary diagnosis.

Compensation and Benefits
How compensation works. Sunset clinicians are W-2 employees on a fee-based compensation model — your earnings are tied to your client caseload, with typical full-time earnings ranging from $72,000 to $90,000 annually based on caseload size, client mix, and licensure level.

Why Tooele?
Tooele sits about 35 minutes west of Salt Lake City — close enough for the airport, concerts, and city days when you want them, but with a lower cost of living that lets a clinician's earnings stretch further than they do an hour east. The Wasatch peaks, the Great Salt Lake, and world-class skiing are all at your doorstep.
How to Apply
We are currently hiring for both a full-time and a part-time W-2 position with flexible scheduling. When you reach out, let us know which role interests you and which populations and clinical concerns you're most drawn to working with.
If you're a licensed or license-eligible mental health therapist or counselor who wants to do meaningful outpatient work in a practice that invests in its clinicians, we'd love to hear from you.
