A Practice Created by Hand Therapists, for Hand Therapists.

You became an Occupational Therapist because you wanted to restore function, solve complex problems, and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

You chose hand therapy because you appreciate the challenge, the craftsmanship, and the relationships that come from helping patients regain what matters most to them.

So did we.

Hands for Living is an OT-owned, OT-led specialty hand therapy practice devoted exclusively to upper extremity rehabilitation. Every therapist on our clinical team is an occupational therapist, and we've intentionally built a practice where therapists have the support, collaboration, and autonomy to do their very best work.

If you're looking for a place where hand therapy isn't simply one service among many—but the entire mission—you've found it.

Join One of the Region's Most Collaborative Hand Therapy Teams

Many Certified Hand Therapists spend much of their careers practicing as the only hand specialist in their clinic.

At Hands for Living, you'll experience something different.

Based on the current HTCC directory, approximately 13% of all Certified Hand Therapists in the greater Seattle metropolitan area practice at Hands for Living. (One of the largest concentrations of CHTs in the Seattle area.)

That's more than an interesting statistic—it reflects the kind of practice we've intentionally built.

Every day, you'll be surrounded by therapists who enjoy discussing challenging cases, refining treatment approaches, sharing ideas, celebrating great outcomes, and continually learning from one another.

You'll work alongside:

  • Six Certified Hand Therapists

  • Occupational Therapists developing advanced hand therapy expertise

  • Exceptional Occupational Therapy Assistants

  • Leaders who understand hand therapy because they've practiced it themselves

If you enjoy talking shop with people who love hand therapy as much as you do, you'll feel right at home.

Practice Hand Therapy the Way It Was Meant to Be

We've designed our practice to support both exceptional patient care and sustainable careers.

Our therapists enjoy:

  • One-on-one patient care

  • 45-minute treatment appointments

  • No double-booking

  • Custom orthosis fabrication whenever clinically appropriate

  • Direct collaboration with referring hand surgeons

  • An experienced administrative team that manages scheduling, insurance authorizations, billing, and front-office operations so therapists can focus on patient care

Our therapists are expected to average approximately 44 patient visits per week. We believe this strikes the right balance between productivity, exceptional patient care, thoughtful documentation, and long-term professional satisfaction.

Our daily schedules also include built-in flexibility to accommodate the unexpected—a complex orthosis, a patient who needs additional time, documentation, or an urgent referral. Thoughtful scheduling helps therapists provide exceptional care while creating a more sustainable workday.

Collaboration Is Part of Every Week

Professional growth isn't reserved for annual continuing education courses. It's built into everyday practice.

Every therapist receives:

  • Weekly one-on-one meetings with their supervisor

  • Monthly therapist collaboration meetings focused on clinical discussion and learning

  • Daily access to experienced colleagues who genuinely enjoy mentoring and sharing knowledge

No matter where you are in your career, you'll never be expected to figure things out alone.

Build the Career You Want

For therapists who enjoy leadership and teaching, Hands for Living offers opportunities to grow beyond direct patient care.

Experienced Certified Hand Therapists may become Lead Therapists, with dedicated mentoring time built into their schedules to support developing therapists while continuing to grow their own leadership skills.

Additional opportunities include:

  • Clinical leadership

  • Therapist mentoring

  • Program development

  • Continuing education

  • Practice leadership

As our practice continues to grow, we're always interested in meeting exceptional therapists who share our commitment to clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and outstanding patient care.

Compensation & Benefits

$40–60 per hour, based on experience, expertise, and leadership contributions.

Our highest compensation levels are intended for experienced Certified Hand Therapists who combine exceptional clinical care with a passion for mentoring and developing other therapists.

We also offer:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with employer matching

  • Paid time off and holidays

  • Continuing education allowance

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Four 10-hour days preferred, with shorter workdays available for the right candidate

  • Part-time opportunities (24+ hours per week)

  • No weekends

Therapists are primarily based in either our Lynnwood or Redmond clinic, depending on the best fit for both the therapist and the practice.

Is Hands for Living the Right Fit?

You'll likely thrive here if you:

  • Love upper extremity rehabilitation.

  • Value thoughtful, evidence-informed care.

  • Enjoy collaborating with talented colleagues.

  • Find satisfaction in mentoring others—or being mentored.

  • Want to build a long-term career in a practice that values both clinical excellence and genuine relationships.

  • Believe outstanding patient care begins with outstanding therapists.

Our Mission

At Hands for Living, we believe in connecting people with what's possible.
