Description

This full-time position is with health benefits and performs nursing services in an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment setting. The nurse will provide general and specialized direct and indirect patient care. This nurse will work with a multidisciplinary team of counselors, nurse practitioners, physician, and internal psychiatric providers to manage patients' individualized treatment plans.

Shifts currently hiring for:

Monday through Friday day shift - 7:30am - 4:00pm

Monday through Friday evening shift - 3:30pm - 12:00am

Monday through Friday night shift - 11:30pm - 8:00am

Weekend day shift - 7:30am - 8:00pm

Weekend night shift - 7:30pm - 8:00am

HIRING HOURLY: $25.00

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating a sense of safety and trust for patients who have experienced trauma. This can be achieved through consistent, reliable interactions and clear communication that is trauma-informed and non-judgmental.
  • Must demonstrate a genuine understanding and concern for the patient's individual experience
  • Responsible for nursing assessment and development of nursing plan of care
  • Responsible for total nursing care of patients on the following units: Withdrawal Management, New Life Unit, Transitional Care Unit and Sobering Services
  • Responsible for patient admissions and discharges (along with patient education)
  • Must visit each patient throughout each shift and address any medical needs
  • Perform tuberculin skin testing, IM injections, take vital signs, and administer breathalyzer assessments
  • Interact with staff, patients, families, and physicians, nurse practitioners to provide optimum care for each patient
  • Note any changes in patient's mental status, physical status, and monitor signs and symptoms of withdrawal during a shift and medicate appropriately
  • Document all pertinent information in resident's electronic medical record daily and follow up with other staff to ensure accuracy of care
  • Respect rights and privacy of each patient while fulfilling responsibilities for their care
  • Administer medications according to established procedures and in a timely manner
  • Encourage patient participation in unit meetings and groups
  • Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner
  • Follow strict DEA, DPH, Board of Pharmacy, and CARF regulations and documentation requirements
  • Participate in emergency/disaster preparation (hurricane, flooding, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed as an LPN in the State of South Carolina, supplemented by at least 1 year of practical work experience in an inpatient or outpatient human services delivery system, or hospital, or equivalent in education and clinical internship
  • Familiarity with substance use disorders is preferred
  • Must be annually re-certified in CPR
  • Have appropriate attitude and demeanor for maintaining smooth working relations with patients, staff, outside agencies, and the general public.
  • A valid SC driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon acceptance of the position
