Join Novant Health’s Med/Surg II Innovations Unit as a Day Shift Licensed Practical Nurse, where compassionate care meets cutting-edge practice. In this fast-paced acute care environment, LPNs work closely with RN-led teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse adult patient population. Shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
Unit: Med/Surg II (8th Floor)
Location: Novant Health NHRMC, Wilmington, NC
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- Experience: One year of relevant hospital experience, preferred
- Licensure/Certification:
- Appropriate state LPN license, required.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
- CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health departments, required.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Computer skills, Phone call etiquette and Organizational Skills.
- Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Behavioral Health units' requirements only
- Ability to intervene in a therapeutic manner for behavior patterns demonstrated by patients with a mental illness, personality disorder, substance abuse or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and treatment interventions, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, mental health concepts, and evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments. CPI certification within three months.
- Ability to establish and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, ability to react appropriately in psychiatric crises, ability use violent and non-violent restraints per policy and procedure.

- Collaborate with RN-led teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care for adults with acute medical and surgical needs
- Utilize advanced clinical skills including wound care, IV therapy, g-tube management, and trach/vent care
- Build authentic, patient-centered relationships with individuals and their support systems
- Engage in innovative pilot programs introducing new technologies and care delivery processes
