REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the Licensed Practical Nurse position with the Human Services Department - Broward Addiction Recovery Center.
The Human Services Department is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse that will provide comprehensive patient assessment, medical screening, medication administration, and ongoing monitoring throughout treatment. They also supports care coordination, documentation, quality assurance activities, and collaboration with internal and external healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective patient care within a County addiction and substance-abuse treatment environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Administer prescribed medications via ordered route (by mouth, subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular, etc.) while providing appropriate information and education regarding medication being administered.
Use Automated Dispensing machines and work collaboratively with pharmacy staff.
Inventory medications brought in by clients and secure medications or complete medication destruction according to facility policy.
Independently navigate Electronic Health Record System while performing essential nursing documentation.
Assessment and documentation of status of Oxygen Tanks, glucometers, refrigerator temperatures, hand sanitizers, AED machines and other medical equipment.
Participates and contributes to Quality Assurance by completing incident reports, tracking infections, medication errors, fall assessments and chart auditing.
Ensure adherence to state, federal, and agency regulations, including documentation standards.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, shift change meetings, client staffing, case conferences and performance improvement committee meetings as assigned.
Work collaboratively with all staff, including interdisciplinary teams (nutrition, admissions, outpatient, residential, security, etc.) and vendors.
