Role Description This full-time, on-site Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role is based at Burks Supportive Living in Chattanooga, TN. The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, performing basic clinical procedures, and documenting care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, responding to changes in residents’ conditions, and supporting care plans that promote comfort, safety, and wellness. The LPN also provides health education to residents and families, assists with admissions and assessments, and ensures infection control and safety protocols are followed. The role requires consistent collaboration with caregivers and support staff to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for all residents.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Tennessee and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Clinical care skills including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, basic wound care, and accurate clinical documentation.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, respond to urgent situations, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced residential care setting.

• Commitment to person-centered care, respect for diverse backgrounds, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.

• Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or supportive living settings is preferred but not required.

• Basic computer skills for electronic health records, email, and documentation systems.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with resident transfers as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
