Charge Nurse (LPN/RN)

Full-Time | Day Shift

Pay Range: $30.60 - $47.57 with Night and Weekend Shift Differential

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to residents and coordinating nursing services within a senior care setting. This role implements nursing procedures and programs, collaborates with nursing leadership to achieve care goals, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, state regulations, and federal healthcare standards. The Charge Nurse also assists with staff supervision, resident assessments, and care planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and support the organization"s mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain a safe environment through adherence to infection control practices and resident rights.
  • Assess residents upon admission and develop or update care plans as needed.
  • Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain medication records and controlled substance inventories.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff members.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Notify physicians and family members of significant changes in resident conditions.
  • Perform nursing procedures within the scope of practice, including wound care, catheterization, tube feedings, and related treatments.
  • Obtain specimens and complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Monitor residents requiring intensive observation or intervention.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and medication aides, providing coaching and accountability.
  • Carry out physician orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support additional departmental and resident care needs as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and make independent decisions.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, geriatric care principles, applicable regulations, and healthcare standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to resident care.
  • Ability to adapt to changing healthcare practices and evolving resident needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to push/pull up to 60 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry up to 15 pounds.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63648.00 - $98945.00/yr.
