Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Falmouth, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 40 Hours/Week; Rotating Evenings and Nights
Shift Times: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM and 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every Other Weekend/Holiday

Weekly Gross: $1,990–$2,100/Week (Based on Experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. The LPN will provide direct resident care, coordinate daily nursing activities, administer medications and treatments, and supervise nursing assistants while maintaining compliance with applicable healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants.
  • Coordinate daily nursing activities, shift services, programs, and resident care.
  • Complete required admission, transfer, and discharge documentation.
  • Receive, transcribe, and implement physician orders.
  • Maintain accurate and informative nursing notes and resident charts.
  • Communicate resident updates and care needs to physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families.
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Perform LPN clinical duties, including catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, wound and dressing care, colostomy and drainage bag care, blood collection, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Collect urine, blood, sputum, and other specimens and perform routine laboratory testing.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
  • Ensure adequate medication, supply, and equipment inventory.
  • Provide health education and care instructions to residents and family members.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and residents' rights.
  • Participate in facility inspections, surveys, and new resident/family orientation.
  • Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college/university or graduation from an approved LPN program.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license.
  • BLS/CPR and AED certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and long-term care regulations.
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate resident care.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, physicians, staff, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Ability to handle difficult or challenging residents with patience, tact, and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and safeguard protected health information.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet the physical and sensory requirements of the position.
