Position Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at a non-profit organization operating a network of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) dedicated to ensuring access to healthcare for all. Services include primary care, behavioral health, specialty care, and health education and advocacy.
Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as part of a designated care team, the LPN delivers safe, high-quality patient care in line with the organization's standards and policies.

Qualifications:
- Certificate of completion from a practical nurse program.
- Current New York State LPN license and registration.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current Infection Control Certificate.
- Current Child Abuse Certificate.
- 1–2 years of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and administer medications, including immunizations.
- Competency in treatments and procedures; proficient in EKGs, phlebotomy, IV insertion, and Foley catheter insertion/removal.
- Basic computer skills, including typing.
- Strong clinical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to manage care for multiple patients within a multidisciplinary team.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate competency in performing treatments and procedures.
- Support patients' respiratory needs (aerosol and inhalation treatments; encourage coughing and deep breathing).
- Perform oral and endotracheal suctioning.
- Perform therapeutic procedures and treatments.
- Insert and remove Foley catheters.
- Perform EKGs and phlebotomy for blood collection.
- Insert and maintain IV lines.
- Assist patients with therapeutic equipment (e.g., incentive spirometer, hot/cold packs).
- Perform patient prep.
- Prepare and administer medications, observe patient response, and demonstrate knowledge of action, dosage, and side effects.
- Safely administer any medication allowed under NY State law and organizational policy.
- Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference.
- Collect and document specimens.
