Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a young learner as an LPN/LVN in a dynamic educational environment near Brockton, MA. This full-time role runs from 7:45am to 2:15pm and begins on September 2, 2026, with an initial three-month trial period. Your expertise will directly impact the well-being and school experience of a non-verbal kindergarten student diagnosed with CDKL5 deficiency disorder, global developmental delay, and epilepsy. You'll provide 1:1 care, ensuring safety and prompt medical attention for a child experiencing very frequent myoclonic and tonic seizures. This position does not require riding the school bus at this time.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid LPN or LVN license, eligible to practice in Massachusetts
Experience working with children, ideally in a school-based or pediatric setting
Strong skills in seizure recognition and emergency response, including administration of nasal spray seizure medication
Compassionate, calm, and adaptable, with exceptional communication abilities
Familiarity with developmental delays or rare genetic disorders is a plus
Reliable, punctual, and committed to fostering a positive environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 direct nursing care to a kindergarten student with significant seizure activity
Monitor for and respond efficiently to seizure episodes, administering prescribed medications as needed
Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and family to ensure continuity of care
Support educational participation and daily living activities within the classroom
Maintain detailed documentation on health status, interventions, and encounters
Uphold infection control and safety protocols at all times
