The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians. This role involves supporting patient treatment plans, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring quality care in a long-term care or clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes
Patient Care & Safety
• Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs)
• Ensure patient comfort and safety
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
Team Collaboration
• Work under supervision of RN or physician
• Collaborate with healthcare team members
• Support care coordination and patient management
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Follow documentation and reporting standards
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulations
Must-Have Qualifications
• Active LPN License (State of Maine – Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Preferred/Required)
• Experience in patient care settings (Long-term care / Skilled nursing preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
• Experience with EMR systems
• Strong patient care and teamwork skills
