Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient Clinic

Location: Syracuse, NY 13202
Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 14 Weeks
Weekly Hours: 42.5 Hours

Compensation

  • Local Rate: Up to $44/hr (based on experience)
  • Travel Rate: Up to $53.35/hr (based on experience)

Position Summary

A reputable healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support its outpatient clinic operations. The LPN will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care, assist with procedures, manage patient intake, and support administrative and coordination functions to ensure efficient clinic workflow.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients, preparing them for examinations and procedures
  • Collect and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and clinical information
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Prepare procedure trays, supplies, and clinical equipment, including injections
  • Administer injections and assist with outpatient procedures as directed
  • Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatments and interventions
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and clinical work areas
  • Perform patient intake, chart preparation, and EMR/EHR documentation
  • Support scheduling, referrals, and front desk coordination as needed
  • Obtain prior insurance authorizations for procedures, imaging, therapies, and specialty care
  • Coordinate communication between primary care providers and specialists
  • Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality standards
  • Contribute to overall clinic efficiency and smooth daily operations

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted LPN license required
  • Prior experience in outpatient or acute care settings preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent patient care and customer service skills
