What you'll do:Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatmentsRecord time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment recordEnsure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and proceduresNotify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properlyEnsures the correct disposal of all sharpsKey information into computer systems including EMRPractice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and proceduresReact appropriately to emergency and disaster situationsOther duties as necessary and assignedWhat we offer:Competitive hourly pay based on experience Professional liability insuranceFlexible scheduleOn the job training/mentoring as neededContinuing educationWhat we're looking for:Graduate from an accredited school of nursingCurrent, active license as an LPNExperience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferredCurrent CPR CertificationMust be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English languageMust be easily understood through verbal communication in the English languageMust be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurementMust have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skillsPhysical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsExposure to body fluids and communicable diseasesFull range of body motion including handling and lifting patientsAbility to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassistedAbility to stand for long periods of timeMust be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully metWhy us:Our nurses care for a geriatric population that depends on consistent, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.
