Job Description
A New York City-based health services network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support pediatric specialty care in a high-volume outpatient setting.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shiftSchedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 11am to 7pm (Mon & Thurs); 10am to 6pm (Tues & Weds); and, 9am to 5pm (Fri)
Setting: Ambulatory outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for pediatric patients in an ambulatory care setting under supervision
- Perform patient intake, screening, and visit preparation for physician examinations
- Carry out venipuncture, phlebotomy, and related specimen handling tasks
- Assist with clinical procedures, vaccinations, injections, and other direct patient care support
- Document clinical activities, coordinate follow-up, and help maintain patient flow and clinic readiness
Qualifications:
- Miimum of 1 year of Nursing experience in an Ambulatory Health facility
- Graduate of a Practical Nursing program
- Current NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current BLS certification
- Pediatrics experience
- Experience with venipuncture and phlebotomy
- Experience with patient intakes, administering vaccines, clinical support, and patient care
Desired Skills:
- Experience in a high-volume practice
- Experience performing EKGs
- Experience with computerized scheduling systems
- Experience with patient follow-up and appointment coordination
