Position Purpose: Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. Assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office settings. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.
Hours/Shift: Full Time/Days 8:00a-4:30p M-F

Key Responsibilities: Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures. Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests. May perform venipuncture.
Qualifications: Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program High school education or equivalent Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Work Requirements: Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using telephone, and able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds. Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing, and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day. Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
