An ambulatory care center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Brooklyn, NY to provide pediatric nursing support in a high-volume outpatient setting. This role involves patient care, clinical support, and coordination of routine ambulatory services for pediatric patients.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Hours: Monday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Setting: Ambulatory outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care under supervision for pediatric patients in an ambulatory care setting.
- Perform intakes, screenings, and patient flow coordination to support efficient clinic operations.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and PPD placements, and perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with treatments, diagnostic procedures, chart preparation, and documentation.
- Educate patients and families, reinforce instructions, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Current BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of LPN experience in an ambulatory health facility.
- Experience with venipuncture and phlebotomy.
- Experience in patient intakes, administering vaccines, and providing clinical support.
- Experience working in a high-volume practice.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in pediatrics.
- Experience performing EKGs.
- Familiarity with computerized scheduling systems.
- Experience with patient follow-up and appointment coordination.
