Location: Boardman, OH

Position Overview
Southwoods Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Orthopedic team in Boardman. The primary focus of this role is Surgery Scheduling; however, the LPN will also assist with daily clinical workloads, answer patient phone calls, and draw up medications as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional care.
  • Surgery Scheduling: Receive specific procedural orders from physicians and coordinate scheduling with respective treatment facilities.
  • Documentation & Coordination: Send necessary medical documentation to treatment facilities and effectively communicate all preoperative orders (such as medication instructions) to patients.
  • Triage & Communication: Answer incoming calls and address clinical messages from patients regarding medical concerns.
  • Clinical Support: Draw up medications and assist Medical Assistants with rooming patients when clinical workloads dictate.
  • Compliance & Privacy: Maintain absolute patient privacy and ensure the office remains fully compliant with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC, etc.).
  • Other Duties: Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Licensure: Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio.
  • Certification: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1+ years of direct patient care experience required.
    • 3+ years of experience in a physician’s office or ambulatory setting is highly preferred.
    • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.
    • Skills: Strong organizational skills, deep empathy, and a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
